Hall of Distinction - Application

REQUIREMENT FOR PRODUCER HALL OF DISTINCTION AWARDS

The ROM, LOM, ROMX/LOMX, VP, LVP designations will be noted on the individual dog's pedigree at the end of the name as an American Spaniel Club title to be placed forever behind their names on the pedigree. Awarding these titles to deserving producers gives the Club a permanent record of Cocker Spaniel history and will serve as a learning tool in pedigree study and research.

ASC is concerned with the health of our breed and has required hip and eye testing on parents of all futurity puppies since 2005. In keeping with these guidelines, any dog born in 2002 or later must have hip and eye papers in order to apply for this award. Dogs born before 2002 do not need to have hip and eye papers to receive the producer HOD awards.

QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
  • ROM = 10 champions for Sire
  • ROM = 4 champions for Dam
  • ROMX = 40 champions for Sire
  • LOM = any ROM producing a ROM offsping
  • LOMX = any Sire that is LOM producing 40 champions
  • VP = 52 points for Sire
  • VP = 32 points for Dam
  • LVP = any VP producing a VP offsping
    (champions = Conformation Ch)

Health Tested (HT) - - For dogs earning any title in the Producer section (ROM/X, LOM/X, VP, LVP) AND 8 years of age or over, the letters HT may be added after the title designation, ONLY after proof of BOTH passing hips and clear eyes at age 8 is submitted to the Producer or Performance Chair. The dog can then have their title changed to ROM-HT, VP-HT, etc.

  4. Versatile Producer (VP)
In recognition of their contributions to the breed, the American Spaniel Club awards the title of Versatile Producer (VP) to Cocker Spaniels whose offspring reflect the breed’s character, purpose and versatility.
