The First Mach 14 Cocker
Sept. 4, 2006 - Bailey Mach10
Bailey (MACH14 Bar-Bax's Makin' New Waves) began showing in agility about a year after AKC introduced agility competitions. She earned 20 MX (Master Excellent) legs before AKC even introduced the Jumpers Classes or the MACH (Master Agility Champion) title. Once the MACH was introduced, Bailey quickly began earning points and double qualifying (DQ) scores and earned her MACH at the 2000 ASC Summer National shortly after turning five years old. What a dream place for her to earn her MACH. Bailey was even invited to take a lap so-to-speak and be introduced in the breed ring just shortly after her agility feat.

Since that hot summer's day in Perry, GA in July 2000, Bailey has gone on to earn a total of 14 MACHs and is the first and only cocker to do so. Earning one MACH is no easy task (750 points and 20 DQs), but by most standards fourteen is unheard of and very few dogs of any breed have earned double digit MACHs. With 14 MACHs, Bailey has earned at least  3500 points and 280 DQs.

Bailey has proven time and time again that she truly is a top performing agility dog. She has qualified for the AKC Agility Nationals every year since the event was first introduced in 1998. Bailey has been ranked by AKC as one of the top four agility cocker spaniels in the nation every year since the first rankings in 1999. This is a feat that no other cocker has come close to and at twelve and a half years of age she was once again was ranked in this elite group for 2007. Bailey also was one of only five cockers to be invited to participate in the Inaugural AKC Agility Invitational in CA in December 2006 and again in December 2007. And perhaps one of her most remarkable accomplishments, she has earned a distinction that few dogs of any breed will ever acquire. In the summer of 2007, AKC listed Bailey as the #11 Lifetime Agility Dog of all breeds to date and as of December 2007 only five other dogs in the nation have earned more MACHs than Bailey.   Not bad for a little buff cocker from Kentucky.

During Bailey's performance career, which continues, she has earned 21 AKC agility titles, 1 AKC obedience title, 1 USDAA agility title and 15 NADAC agility titles. She also has earned the Temperament Test certificate and the Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Bailey was bred and is owned and handled by Vivian Hudson of Bar-Bax Cockers.
