SECOND EYE CLINIC/DNA BLOOD DRAW SPONSORED BY THE COCKER SPANIEL CLUB OF NEW JERSEY

The problem of inherited cataracts became a concern of responsible Cocker Spaniel breeders in the mid-1970's.   Over the intervening years, the age of onset may have increased, but the genetic problem has not been eliminated.  Now, thirty-five plus years after the initial eye clinics, hope is in the air.  We all owe an expression of gratitude to Debi Lampert-Rudman for her passion to find a genetic marker.  Below is the story of the 2nd step along that road.
