WE MADE IT! I believe you all understand the dilemma the show committee and officers of ASC have been faced with since June 2011!
Not only is the loss of the site that we have enjoyed for 5 years huge, but locating another has been a monumental task! Thanks to all who offered suggestions and help locating a venue. 54,000 sq feet minimum is not easy to find and any sites near our former venue were booked for 2012.
Our site for 2012 is located in Knoxville, TN in a venue located beneath the Holiday Inn Select, World’s Fair Park and is managed by the Knoxville Convention Center. We will have 70,000 sq feet and x-pens will be IN YOUR SET-UP. Further details on tack room accommodations will be forthcoming.
The host hotel is that Holiday Inn. Rate is $97 a night plus tax. This is a dog friendly property and ASC Board has decided to permit exhibitors to have their dog in the room. The hotel has established policy and fee(s) for this but ASC will also monitor conditions at hotel. Yes, there is a charge for parking but the room rate plus parking is still less than you had been paying the last few years.
The block is set up and ready to go. You can make reservations by calling either 865-522-2800 or 1-800-HOLIDAY. The group code is ASC.
We also had quite a time with AKC with a conflicting show 114 miles away. After LONG negotiations and pleadings, and with AKC approval, the Clemson Club released 5 Flushing Breeds each day. Scheduling will be a challenge, but that too will be accomplished.
Saturday Breeds: (Sweeps /Futurity for these Breeds will be on Friday)
Cocker Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels and American Water Spaniels
Sunday Breeds: (Sweeps will be on Sunday am)
English Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Boykin Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels and Cockers
Performance events will be held as planned. Judge will be announced as soon as AKC approval is received.
Hope y’all will join us for this NEW adventure and remember to start collecting raffle and silent auction items as well as planning Club baskets! Our event is going to cost considerably more than what we’ve been used to the last 5 years, so dig deep and help offset the rental of facility!
